July Gravel Ride

Event Details

For our second gravel ride, we’ll head south briefly before turning north to explore some fun roads in Carlsbad.

41 miles, 3,268′

A few tips for this route:
Carefully cross Tamarack Ave by avoiding trains, cross traffic, hikers, dog walkers and cyclists who are not aware you are about to cross in front of them!  Proceed with caution on Royal Rollercoaster – At the bottom of one of the final rollers is a rocky water crossing.  At mile 25, If you feel this has been a hard enough ride, cut the ride short here by turning right on Cannon Road, then left on Faraday Ave, where you can rejoin the route at Veterans Park. The route through the tomato fields farm can be hot and there is no tree shade until the end. Jump the curb at Veterans Park and make your way down to the tunnel, careful down the stairs and look out for golf cart traffic! Follow the route across the bridge and right on to the dirt and then climb out towards the resorts near Legoland.
