This Sunday, we’re going to San Clemente via Camp Pendelton. This route has the option to turn around at any point… Las Pulgas, the campgrounds, or do the whole thing! It’s up to you. If you do the whole route, the turn-around is Zebra Cafe in San Clemente (73 miles). LSD rides start at Lofty Coffee La Costa.
Remember to bring your valid base pass if you prefer not to ride on the freeway! For information on obtaining the DBIDS pass and riding through Camp Pendleton, visit the Camp Pendleton base access web site.
LSD stands for Long Steady Distance. The goal is a steady state ride at B and C levels. That means staying in zone 2 on the flats and zone 3 on the little pitches … a conversation-paced ride. No surging or attacking.
