Swamdo Training Ride #2 – B/C/D Groups

Event Details

Last week we kicked our series of five Swamdo training rides with the Fallbrook Ride. Now we’re on #2!

For our second training ride, we’ll head north on the coast to Carlsbad, then turn east and ride through Vista to Lilac, Circle R, Champagne, and Jesmond Dene… well-loved roads we’ve been missing a bunch!  If you don’t ride too fast, you’ll make it back to Rouleur just as it opens at 12 PM for more fun after the ride 🍻 A good rest stop is the camp store at the bottom of Circle R, just before you head up Champagne.

Bathrooms at Rouleur will open at 7:30 AM

The route is 55 miles/4,242′ https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37097080

There is a slightly shorter option that is 49 miles/3,328′  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37557548

The focus of our Swamdo training rides is endurance and climbing, not so much speed. These rides are designed to get us in shape for hills, long hills. Cool weather will probably not happen just yet! We’ll form B/C/D groups, but please be ready to take care of yourself: Be prepared with the route, have flat-fixing gear, and plan proper hydration/nutrition. We start and end at Rouleur Brewing.

NOTES:

  • This is a ride for road bikes only (no aero, e- or mountain bikes).
  • We regroup at key points, but these are not no-drop rides. If you cannot keep the minimum pace for the group you are with, you can ride with the group behind you.

  PLEASE READ:

    • Safety is always first. Each cyclist is responsible for following health and cycling safety guidelines as well as traffic laws.
    • Helmets are required.
    • Please have the route loaded onto your GPS device or know the course.
