Tour de France Ride
The Tour de France is upon us again, and it’s the perfect excuse to get together with fellow cyclists and enjoy our favorite sport! To celebrate the grueling Queen Stage of the 2026 Tour, we’ll get together early at Lost Abbey (come as early as 6:30), watch the end of the stage, and then ride our own! Then we’ll return to Lost Abbey where beer and Nonos BBQ will be on sale at Lost Abbey.
ROUTES
We have two rides to choose from. They both leave from Lost Abbey (map) when the Tour stage ends (approximately 8:15):
- Long (with Couser Canyon): 55 mi/4398′: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51483639
- Short (without Couser): 45.8 mi/3443′: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51483632
PRIZES
As usual, we’ll offer prizes for KOM and QOM on a climb and a sprint. The long route climb award will be for Couser Canyon and the short route climb award will be for West Lilac Rise. The sprint award will be for the Hutchinson sprint. Important: To be eligible to win, you must join the Swami’s Strava Club: https://www.strava.com/clubs/swamis-cycling-club.
REST STOP
A good place is the AM/PM in Bonsall (requiring a slight detour from the route).
These are the average speeds you can expect to see on our Saturday rides. If you cannot keep the minimum pace for the group you are with, you can ride with the group behind you.
B group 18+ mph
C group 16-18 mph
