Food Drive This Friday

posted in: Events, News | 0

This Friday, May 8, local pro cyclists Jess Cerra and Sam Boardman are hosting a food drive at the Union Cowork office in San Marcos from 11:30 to 1:30.

The food will be given to Feeding San Diego, the leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization in San Diego County.

Their Last Effort

You might recall that Jess and Sam hosted their first food drive last month on a rainy Friday in Encinitas.  Thanks in part to the support of Mayor Faulconer and coverage by NPR, they collected over 1,800 pounds of food!

This Time: One Ton

Food banks remain in dire need of supplies, due to the extraordinary demands caused by the COVID-19 crisis.  Please attend and give, if you can.  Jess and Sam are aiming to collect 1 ton of donated food this time!

Feeding San Diego will accept sealed, non-perishable items (but no glass!). Canned meats, soups, cereals and even cleaning supplies are appreciated.

See You On Friday
