First race if the year. We drove up at 5 am to the varsity w15-18 race. Both McKenzie Steiner and Julia Gibbons attacked relentlessly until Julia was able to ride off the front. Unfortunately, Julia was caught with 2 laps to go, but the effort tired out the field, allowing McKenzie to sprint for the win. After the Herculean time trial effort, Julia was still able to finish on the podium. Excellent team work from the Swami’s junior women. We had to leave right after the race because both girls were working later that morning, but I want to congratulate the race organization and Sean Wilson on a great race.
